Perth people love to demonstrate their individuality through their homes and lifestyle.
Floreat One is a large family home on one of Floreat’s premier streets overlooking parkland.
This home has been designed to exploit a northern orientation and passive solar design principles with a focus on double volume voids.
External timber cladding and polished plaster along with a concrete wall contribute warmth to the overall modern aesthetic.
The clients did not want a ‘white box’ design but still desired a contemporary home. The design explored and adopted the use of varying materials and architectural detailing to provide for an elevation which is modern but not stark. The front face of the home incorporates: western red cedar lining and timber posts, a concrete spine wall, face brickwork, polished plaster and render to specific architectural features ensuring that there is plenty of visual stimulation.
A curved cantilevered balcony in white render provides protection to a decked area on the lower level and contributes a mellowness to the other wise rectilinear elevation.
